Some of us live in small spaces and extending our living quarters into the outdoors can be a welcome change, especially in the summer months. For those of us who don't have access to green space, bringing a little nature indoors can also help liven a home... here are some of our favorite spaces that blend indoors and outdoors with a little bit of imagination and a lot of grace... 

Atelier

For those of you who don't know, Atelier is the French word for workspace or studio. It conjures ideas of romance, creativity and spaces full of objects, tools, art and history. Retreat

We've visited so many sites throughout the bay area for events, and we're so inspired by how the natural landscape interacts with architecture of a space. Many of places we enter are full of California Oaks, wild grasses and sprawling green spaces dotted with cabins or other retreat spaces. While the open doors can be your retreat space, a little cabin or cozy structure can make a great hideaway for two.
