Tea Time

Its about that time... tea time! Everyday we stop in the afternoon to take a moment to have tea together. It gives us a chance to take a break, reconnect and relax before diving back into our projects. We love sipping tea and indulging in a little treat. Here are some of our favorite tea time traditions and mid day snack ideas! We love these chocolate dipped cookies in the shape of a tea bag from le Pétrin!

In a perfect world, this is what our tea presentation would look like. Ours isn't far off, but we love these vintage jade green containers paired with classic white teaware. Its all about the details! Who wouldn't love to be served tea from such a cute and eye catching tray of goodies???

On some days, tea isn't only a tradition its a necessity. Love this little illustration by sweet william for any tea lover. Happy Tea Time!!!

DIY Wednesday!!!!

 From this...

To this!!!

We found these somewhat dated looking but very expensive chairs at a consignment center. We wanted to modernize them a bit for our studio space so we gave them a facelift! Using Golden Brand textile medium and flat interior house paint, we mixed up a batch of textile paint and set to it with a foam roller and brush. The chairs are still drying and we have some awesome detailing to add, so stay tuned for the next step in the process!!!

Today's Bride Photoshoot

We recently did a photo shoot for Today's Bride with Very Merry Events. This romantic fairytale wedding was full of soft florals, delicate touches and beautiful details. For this dramatic dining scene we wanted to create a lush and soft look. Instead of using a fabric or lace runner, we chose something a little more dramatic and less expected. We crafted this runner entirely out of dahlias and seasonal flowers. Blush pinks and soft whites were punctuated with purples and violets creating depth and movement throughout.

Stay tuned for more pics and also a little behind the scenes film later this week!

Cozy Up

Somewhere between rain and sunshine we've had moments this week of bright mornings and grey afternoons. Scarves and heavy coats are layered on, only to be stripped off during the walk home in the new hour of light we've acquired in the last few weeks. Cold nights like these remind us to cozy up with a good book, a loved one, a furry friend, and perhaps a favorite tv show or movie. We love a warm cup of tea, a plate of comfort food and a good magazine. What are some of the things you love to do at home on a chilly night???

Stones

Items from nature can be a great source for inspiration. We love these simple and easy ways to enhance the beauty of something as simple as a stone. Forget the pet rock of your childhood. These ideas are ways to create sophisticated and beautiful objects for your home, workspace or even to give as a sweet little gift.

Color & Pattern

Loving these bright colors and patterns and how they inform our floral design... Ethnic tapestries are a great inspiration and they have always been an integral part of good interior design. A beautiful carpet can ground a room, set the mood, inspire the decor and even hang as a work of art. We love to pull out color and texture and let it guide us as we create the environment and florals for an event...

Family Style

Brides today are always looking for ways to make their wedding a little less traditional and a little more dynamic. One of the ways to create a less expected experience for your guests is by changing up the dining space. We love to style an event that is a little more intimate but can still accomodate many guests. A family dinner is an excellent way to achieve a cozy yet elegant space for any event. We love these images from a well traveled woman. We think they embody the spirit and look of beautifully created space perfect for any size wedding. Bon appetit!
